Part number E80PC317 is an AS568-317 black EPDM (EPR) 80 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.912 in (23.16 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.332 in (33.83 mm). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

EPDM (EPR) is specified here for strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, good electrical insulating characteristics. The material holds up against brake fluid, water and steam, and ozone, UV and weathering. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. Applications involving aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil-based lubricants call for a different compound.
