The compound resists ozone, UV and weathering, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and brake fluid. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is valued for good electrical insulating characteristics, strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to mineral oil-based lubricants or petroleum oils and fuels will shorten service life.
