This o-ring is supplied in AS568-427 black EPDM (EPR) 80 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 4.725 in (120.02 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.275 in (133.99 mm), catalogued under part number E80PC427. It delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

EPDM (EPR) is known for excellent hot water and steam resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. This material stands up to ozone, UV and weathering, dilute acids and alkalis, and ketones. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). Applications involving mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in brake and phosphate ester systems, water and steam systems, and solar and roofing assemblies.
