As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. This material stands up to many acids, aggressive chemicals, and engine and transmission fluids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or ketones and esters are present.

It sees regular use in aerospace, high-temperature process equipment, and chemical processing.
