This o-ring is supplied in AS568-453 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 11.975 in (304.17 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.525 in (318.14 mm), catalogued under part number V70453. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

This material stands up to aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and aggressive chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters are present.

Common environments for this compound include chemical processing, aerospace, and automotive fuel systems.
