Ordered as V70048, this is an AS568-048 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.739 in (120.37 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.879 in (123.93 mm). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The compound resists aggressive chemicals, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in aerospace, oil and gas, and high-temperature process equipment.
