V70171 is an AS568-171 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.987 in (202.87 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.193 in (208.1 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or amines are present.
