The V70172 is an AS568-172 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 8.237 in (209.22 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.443 in (214.45 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Viton® (FKM) is specified for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. It resists aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and aggressive chemicals. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam.
