This o-ring is supplied in AS568-174 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A with an inside diameter of 8.737 in (221.92 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.943 in (227.15 mm), catalogued under part number V70174. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam.

Typical settings include oil and gas, aerospace, and semiconductor equipment.
