This o-ring is supplied in AS568-229 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 2.359 in (59.92 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.637 in (66.98 mm), catalogued under part number V70229. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids.
