The V70242 is an AS568-242 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 3.984 in (101.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.262 in (108.25 mm). This o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) delivers the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, engine and transmission fluids, and aggressive chemicals. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or ketones and esters are present.

It sees regular use in automotive fuel systems, oil and gas, and high-temperature process equipment.
