Ordered as V70317, this is an AS568-317 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.912 in (23.16 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.332 in (33.83 mm). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. Viton® (FKM) offers the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or ketones and esters will shorten service life.
