Ordered as V70408, this is an AS568-408 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.35 in (59.69 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.9 in (73.66 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is known for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material holds up against aggressive chemicals, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or hot water and steam will shorten service life.
