An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. It resists chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service.

It sees regular use in semiconductor equipment, automotive fuel systems, and chemical processing.
