This o-ring is supplied in black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A with an inside diameter of 10.5 mm (0.413 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 15.5 mm (0.61 in), catalogued under part number V2.5X10.5. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. This material stands up to engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam are present.

Common environments for this compound include aerospace, oil and gas, and high-temperature process equipment.
