The V5X12 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 12 mm (0.472 in), a cross section of 5 mm (0.197 in), and an outside diameter of 22 mm (0.87 in). This o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters call for a different compound.
