The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Viton® (FKM) is valued for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. It resists chlorinated solvents, aggressive chemicals, and aromatic hydrocarbons. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters are present.

It sees regular use in semiconductor equipment, aerospace, and automotive fuel systems.
