This o-ring is supplied in AS568-271 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 9.234 in (234.54 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.512 in (241.6 mm), catalogued under part number V75271. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and outstanding high-temperature capability. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, aggressive chemicals, and chlorinated solvents. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids call for a different compound.

Typical settings include aerospace, automotive fuel systems, and oil and gas.
