Viton® (FKM) is valued for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, engine and transmission fluids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or amines will shorten service life.

Typical settings include high-temperature process equipment, automotive fuel systems, and oil and gas.
