An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Viton® (FKM) delivers outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to petroleum oils and fuels, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C).

It sees regular use in chemical processing, automotive fuel systems, and aerospace.
