The V5X59 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 59 mm (2.323 in), a cross section of 5 mm (0.197 in), and an outside diameter of 69 mm (2.72 in). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The material holds up against aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is valued for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present.

Typical settings include oil and gas, high-temperature process equipment, and semiconductor equipment.
