Ordered as V1.78X6.75, this is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.75 mm (0.266 in), a cross section of 1.78 mm (0.07 in), and an outside diameter of 10.31 mm (0.41 in). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The compound resists aggressive chemicals, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving amines or ketones and esters call for a different compound.
