Ordered as V2X83, this is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 83 mm (3.268 in), a cross section of 2 mm (0.079 in), and an outside diameter of 87 mm (3.43 in). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is specified for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The material holds up against engine and transmission fluids, many acids, and aggressive chemicals. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Applications involving ketones and esters or amines call for a different compound.
