Ordered as V2X97, this is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 97 mm (3.819 in), a cross section of 2 mm (0.079 in), and an outside diameter of 101 mm (3.98 in). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and engine and transmission fluids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Applications involving amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids call for a different compound.

Typical settings include semiconductor equipment, aerospace, and high-temperature process equipment.
