This o-ring is supplied in AS568-319 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 1.037 in (26.34 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.457 in (37.01 mm), catalogued under part number V90319. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is specified for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or ketones and esters call for a different compound.
