This o-ring is supplied in AS568-224 brown Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 1.734 in (44.04 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.012 in (51.1 mm), catalogued under part number VB90224. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against petroleum oils and fuels, many acids, and chlorinated solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam call for a different compound.
