Viton® (FKM) is known for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The compound resists many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and aggressive chemicals. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C).

It sees regular use in oil and gas, high-temperature process equipment, and chemical processing.
