An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material holds up against many acids, petroleum oils and fuels, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C).

Typical settings include semiconductor equipment, oil and gas, and automotive fuel systems.
