An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) is valued for good compression set resistance in static duty and a very wide service temperature range. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, aromatic fuels and jet fuel, and petroleum oils. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 350°F (176.7°C). It is not the right choice where hydrazine or high-temperature dynamic service are present.
