This o-ring is supplied in AS568-449 blue Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) 70 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 9.975 in (253.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.525 in (267.34 mm), catalogued under part number FS70449. It provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) is valued for the standard choice for static aerospace fuel system seals and silicone's low-temperature flexibility combined with fuel resistance. It resists chlorinated solvents, extreme cold, and aromatic fuels and jet fuel. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 350°F (176.7°C). It is not the right choice where hydrazine or brake fluids are present.

It sees regular use in aviation fuel systems, high-altitude equipment, and military ground vehicles.
