Ordered as FVB-0350-A, this is a Buna-N (Nitrile) Type A V-Ring Seal. The v-ring seal acts as a primary or secondary exclusion seal that flings dirt and water away as the shaft turns.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material holds up against greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and many alcohols. It should not be specified for service in ketones or automotive brake fluid.
