This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-012 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 90 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 0.364 in (9.25 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.504 in (12.8 mm), catalogued under part number HB90012. It extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Expect good resistance to many alcohols, propane and butane, and hydraulic fluids. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or ketones.
