HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) is specified here for excellent abrasion and tear strength, oil resistance of nitrile with substantially better heat capability. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, ozone and weathering, and heat and oxidation. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 325°F (162.8°C). Exposure to ketones or chlorinated hydrocarbons will shorten service life.
