As a material, HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) is known for the oil resistance of nitrile with substantially better heat capability, long service life in refrigerant and oilfield duty. The material holds up against ozone and weathering, heat and oxidation, and petroleum oils and fuels. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 325°F (162.8°C). It is not the right choice where strong oxidizing acids or chlorinated hydrocarbons are present.
