APG stocks the HSN90231, an AS568-231 green HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) 90 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.609 in (66.27 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.887 in (73.33 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) offers the oil resistance of nitrile with substantially better heat capability, improved ozone and weathering resistance over standard nitrile. The compound resists modern refrigerants, sour gas and amine inhibitors, and petroleum oils and fuels. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 325°F (162.8°C). It should not be specified for service in chlorinated hydrocarbons or ketones.

It sees regular use in automotive air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, and heavy-duty powertrain.
