The HQ4003 is an AS568-003 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.056 in (1.42 mm), a cross section of 0.06 in (1.52 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.176 in (4.47 mm). This quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

This material stands up to propane and butane, hydraulic fluids, and many alcohols. Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving automotive brake fluid or ketones call for a different compound.

Typical settings include general industrial maintenance, agricultural equipment, and construction equipment.
