The HQ4023 is an AS568-023 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.051 in (26.7 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.191 in (30.25 mm). This quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

It resists propane and butane, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where automotive brake fluid or polar solvents are present.

It sees regular use in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fluid power, and construction equipment.
