Part number HQ4038 is an AS568-038 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.614 in (66.4 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.754 in (69.95 mm). A quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

It resists hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where ozone and direct sunlight or automotive brake fluid are present.
