The HQ4140 is an AS568-140 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.237 in (56.82 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.443 in (62.05 mm). This quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

This material stands up to hydraulic fluids, propane and butane, and many alcohols. Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and low compression set under sustained load. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where automotive brake fluid or polar solvents are present.

Typical settings include hydraulic and pneumatic systems, general industrial maintenance, and construction equipment.
