HQ4160 is an AS568-160 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.237 in (133.02 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.443 in (138.25 mm). In service, this quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Expect good resistance to water, propane and butane, and hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for strong abrasion and tear resistance, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or ketones call for a different compound.
