The HQ4163 is an AS568-163 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.987 in (152.07 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.193 in (157.3 mm). This quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) offers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, low compression set under sustained load. The compound resists petroleum-based oils, propane and butane, and greases and lubricants. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or automotive brake fluid.
