The HQ4209 is an AS568-209 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.671 in (17.04 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.949 in (24.1 mm). This quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for low compression set under sustained load and an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. The compound resists hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and water. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to polar solvents or automotive brake fluid will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in general industrial maintenance, construction equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
