The HQ4281 is an AS568-281 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 14.984 in (380.59 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 15.262 in (387.65 mm). This quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

This material stands up to many alcohols, hydraulic fluids, and water. Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in automotive brake fluid or ozone and direct sunlight.
