This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-438 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile measuring an inside diameter of 6.225 in (158.12 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.775 in (172.09 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4438. It provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, low compression set under sustained load. It resists greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and many alcohols. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or ozone and direct sunlight will shorten service life.
