It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) is valued for improved ozone and weathering resistance over standard nitrile, the oil resistance of nitrile with substantially better heat capability. The material holds up against sour gas and amine inhibitors, modern refrigerants, and petroleum oils and fuels. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 325°F (162.8°C).
