H70MD049 is an AS568-049 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.989 in (126.72 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.129 in (130.28 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for strong abrasion and tear resistance, low compression set under sustained load. This material stands up to petroleum-based oils, water, and propane and butane. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in strong acids or automotive brake fluid.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include agricultural equipment, automotive, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
