H70MD174 is an AS568-174 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 8.737 in (221.92 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.943 in (227.15 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The material holds up against many alcohols, hydraulic fluids, and petroleum-based oils. Buna-N (Nitrile) offers strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where ozone and direct sunlight or automotive brake fluid are present.
