Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and low compression set under sustained load. The compound resists propane and butane, many alcohols, and greases and lubricants. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in ketones or ozone and direct sunlight.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in fluid power, agricultural equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
