APG stocks the H70MD905, an AS568-905 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.414 in (10.52 mm), a cross section of 0.072 in (1.83 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.558 in (14.17 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

It resists greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and many alcohols. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or strong acids call for a different compound.
