This o-ring is supplied in AS568-369 blue Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 7.975 in (202.57 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.395 in (213.23 mm), catalogued under part number V75MD369. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

It resists chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C).
